I remember when…Consumer sales manager Eric Leblang recalls the night before the tasting room opened

I remember when…

I walked through the new tasting room the night before it opened to the public.

The space was void of sound and only the creaks of the new floorboards could be heard. As I walked through the space, I started to visualize the coming months. I pictured the library full of oenophiles deductively tasting our singles block pinot noir and the kitchen overflowing with epicureans pairing our pinot noir with local charcuterie and cheese. I walked onto our front porch and could visualize the tables full with visitors overlooking the Willamette Valley and sipping on our Evolution Sparkling. The possibilities were endless, and the energy I felt from the new tasting room was almost palpable.

The next day the doors opened and there I stood, in my first winery position, as host for the new tasting room. As the throngs of visitors walked through the front door, eyes wide and smiles from ear to ear, I had nothing but enthusiasm to share with them.

“With over 5000 square feet of tasting room, it’s like an adult Disneyland”; the guests chuckled at my comment.

From that day on, Sokol Blosser Winery was no more a tasting room than a destination, and I was proud to be a part of the new family!
