  • Sous-Chef - Full Time

     

    Farm & Forage Culinary Experience at Sokol Blosser

    Our Sous Chef will assist our Chef to grow our Culinary program. Our Culinary program is in place to sell our wines through creative food combinations showing our love of wine and exposing its hidden secrets. Our collaborative culinary team is here to provide an amazing customer experience and connect customers to our story while selling liquid art.

    Responsibilities

    • Portrays the winery’s image in the Tasting Room and Kitchen; presentation and delivery of an exceptional customer experience to every guest
    • Preps and serves food to the highest standards within our culinary team to develop localized, seasonal menus
    • Assists in all aspects with our onsite food program with a special focus on kitchen experiences, onsite catering as well as food & wine pairing to increase wine sales
    • Consult with team members regarding food pairings and wine dinner menus when Sokol Blosser is participating
    • Conduct and present solo Farm & Forage experience while the Chef is unable
    • Maintains the organization of the kitchen space and all areas where commercially sold food will be prepared; works closely with the Support Staff
    • Ensures compliance with FDA and state food handling requirements for anyone assisting with food prep or service
    • Assist with inventory count and order as needed: dishware, cutlery, cooking supplies, packaging supplies, dry goods and other foods as needed for the program

    Requirements

    • 2 years of culinary training or background in food prep and/or hospitality experience required in a from scratch kitchen is preferred.
    • High school or GED graduate
    • Passionate about wine and the wine/food lifestyle
    • Excellent knife and kitchen utensil skills
    • Able to prioritize in a changing environment
    • Able to work well in a team environment and in close working conditions with employees and customers
    • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
    • Strong reasoning, judgment, analytical, and problem-solving skills
    • Creative thinking skills and able to think outside the box to achieve goals

  • Tasting Room Manager - Full Time

    Our Tasting Room Manager will possess a strong dedication to lead and motivate employees to provide our guests with an exceptional wine country experience. Goals of this position are making sure our day-to-day retail and hospitality programs operate smoothly while maintaining the flow of the Tasting Room. Our manager will have a strong background in growing DTC business and an excellent understanding of customer service and hospitality.

    Responsibilities

    Tasting Room Management:

    •  Oversees daily operations of the tasting room
    •  Creates and tracks sales targets for TR staff
    •  Builds a cohesive, supportive environment in which they can achieve and exceed goals
    •  Leads by example and coaches team to provide outstanding and memorable wine country experiences for every guest
    •  Resolves customer concerns quickly and proactively
    •  Collaborates with Cellar Club Coordinator to ensure growth and an intended wine club experience
    •  Collaborates on the annual budget for the tasting room
    •  Partners in a leadership role with the culinary team to ensure high level of service
    •  Responds to customer in a timely and professional manner
    •  Hire, motivate, and provide ongoing coaching to achieve a high level of service and sales
    •  Track key metrics for the tasting room in order to obtain optimum sales and adjust where necessary
    •  Create and track sales targets for TR staff, and builds a cohesive, supportive environment in which they can achieve and exceed those goals
    •  Work with Hospitality Manager & Chef to continue a collaborative relationship
    •  Support Hospitality Manager in planning winery and club pick up events
    •  Manage inventory levels and interdepartmental inventory transfers
    •  Assist with creating the annual budget for the Tasting Room
    •  Manage product displays and oversee regular restocking and reorganization
    •  Maintain current products and inventory in POS system
    •  Participate as a part of the Manager’s group and attends all staff chats, sales meetings, and staff enrichment meetings
    •  Host VIPs, wine club members, and trade guests for private tours & tastings
    •  Interact daily with the Hospitality Manager, Executive Chef, and other managers to assist in the planning and execution of events
    •  Respond to customer inquiries via phone email and in person

    Requirements

    •  5+ years related hospitality/sales management experience (wine, retail, restaurant, etc.) or a commensurate amount of experience
    •  Passionate about wine and the wine/food lifestyle
    •  Able to lead a successful team through open and complete communication
    •  Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
    •  Strong reasoning, judgment, analytical, and problem-solving skills
    •  Creative thinking skills and able to think outside the box
    •  Proven leadership qualities with a desire to learn
    •  Able to multi-task and prioritize within multiple departments, simultaneously, with a calm sense of urgency
    •  Excellent oral and written communication skills
    •  Excellent training skills; able to teach and demonstrate various skills
    •  Solid computer skills (Microsoft Office)
    •  Able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
    •  Able to sit, walk, rotate, and stand, for long periods of time
    •  Must have or be able to obtain an OLCC server’s permit and Food Handler’s card
    •  Forklift certified or willing to be certified

     

    Position Comments

    •  This position will report to the Consumer Sales Director
    •  Hours and days will vary and are based on the needs of the business
    •  Weekend and holiday work will be required
    •  This is an exempt position

  • TR Associate - Part and Full Time

    Our Tasting Room is looking to add tasting room associates to join us on our vineyard in the heart of Oregon’s wine country. Our team members are responsible for making sure we are providing a meaningful tasting experience to our guests.

    Your days on the Estate include, but are not limited to:

    • Engaging customers with knowledge of Sokol Blosser brands and products through our story
    • Providing a high level of hospitality and customer service while serving guests on-site

  • TR Support - Part and Full Time

     

    Our Tasting Room is looking to add a support staff member to join us on our vineyard in the heart of Oregon’s wine country. Our support team is responsible for making sure our back of the house runs smooth in order ensure we are providing the best experience to our guests.

    Your days on the Estate include, but are not limited to:

    • Preps and serves food to support our culinary program and wine sales
    • Assist with inventory count, stock and order as needed: dishware, cutlery, cooking supplies, packaging supplies, dry goods and other foods as needed for the program
    • Participate and maintain the organization of the kitchen
    • Fulfill wine purchase orders and assist guest with carrying their purchases
    • Clean, clear, and stock glassware and dishes
    • Clear glasses and dishes as needed from tables
    • Floor care; sweeping and mopping
    • Empty all trash and recycling as needed; removed from building and placed in the dumpster prior to departing
    • Assist in set up and take down of winery events including chairs, tables, service ware, tents, etc.
    • Assist in guiding guests to the proper tasting areas on site

    Looking for a key player who has:

    • Kitchen and dishwashing experience
    • Able to work well in a team environment
    • Able to prioritize and stay organized
