Melissa is our rockstar leading the shipping department to get your wines to you safe and sound! But she isn’t just a rockstar, she’s a rockhound! So if you see someone wandering around the property looking intensely at the ground, it’s just Melissa looking for a new cool find.
We asked Melissa to tell us a little more about herself – get to know her below!
How I started at Sokol Blosser:
I worked with Sokol Blosser for many years before becoming an actual employee. Red Hills Distribution & Storage hired me in 2015 as a contract employee doing all their special projects for numerous wineries… That’s when I started stickering all of Sokol Blosser’s Export orders. In the fall of 2016, Sokol Blosser hired me as a consultant to ship both daily and club orders from the winery.
When Sokol Blosser learned that I was looking for employment, they reached out to see if I was interested and on March 5th, 2018, I became an actual employee.
Favorite part of working here:
There are several – The flexibility is incredible. My daughter plays basketball, soccer and flag football. They allow me to do what matters most – family! Management listens, they encourage and help me grow. My coworkers are amazing and are always willing to help.
Why I love what I do:
I love being able to move around, work on different projects, pack orders, pick wine, etc. I would be miserable sitting at a desk all day. This keeps me in shape! Plus, I get to decorate how I want, and in my world, it’s Halloween 24/7. There’s always room for another skeleton somewhere!
