Tank You Very Much!

On Tuesday we had a tank invasion here at Sokol Blosser Winery. Four long awaited 10,500 gallon tanks were delivered to the side of the Winery nearest the Barrel Cellar. These huge tanks will be used primarily for blending and bottling our white blend, Evolution, allowing us to increase our case production significantly (good news for all you Evolution lovers out there!).

Below are some great pictures taken by Scott Nagle, Brand Ambassador, of the tank installation:

Our Baby Vines Are Taking the Heat

Phew! It's been just a little on the warm side here the past few days, with temperatures reaching 102 degrees in our little berg of Dundee, Oregon. So far, our newly planted baby Pinot Noir vines in the Old Vineyard Block have been sturdy against the rising heat - but not the accompanying nightly winds.

Our small Pinot Noir vines have grown a lot with the recent influx of sun, but the strong winds at night have knocked over and broken a few of them. Our vineyard crew has been worked tirelessly all day yesterday to secure by hand the all of the baby vines to small bamboo rods. At 1200 vines per acre... that's a lot of handwork - but it's worth it!

Have GPS, Will Travel

If you're anything like me, you can't find your way out of paper bag. GPS is pretty much my best friend. Without it, I might drive off one day... and never return.

On the other side of things, my brother is a GPS champ - by choice, not out of necessity (like me). He goes on geocache adventures and locates all kinds of neat stuff that people have left behind for others to discover.

Whether you're like me, like my brother or somewhere in between, you can have your own adventure and discover Sokol Blosser Winery the GPS way. Here are our coordinates:

Latitude: 45.253687
Longitude: -123.054831

Be careful... with our delicious and delicate Pinot Noirs, the beautiful view on our relaxing deck, and the variety of picnic foods here to nibble on, you may never return... or you may just never want to!
