Banding the Bluebirds

Today I got to help Marilyn and Michael, two volunteers with the Prescott Western Bluebird Recovery Project, put a small band around the legs of our 12 baby bluebirds to aid in tracking their whereabouts and population.

This is a picture of 5-day old scrawny and featherless baby bird. Just think how gorgeous it will be in just a few short weeks!
