Vanessa Hadick | Marketing Manager
I grew up in Monterey, California, around wine, with my dad having worked for Seagram’s through my childhood…however I never realized I’d pursue a career in wine one day myself. While attending UC Davis as an International Relations major, I spent a summer living in Monaco, interning in the Marketing department of Campari, International. Getting paid to talk about alcohol all day? I was in love!
After another marketing internship in London the following year, and 6 months of living and studying in Sydney, Australia, I graduated from UC Davis in March of 2006 and decided to solo backpack throughout Europe for a couple of months to figure out what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. It was while enjoying dinner with strangers in Cinque Terre, Italy over bowls of pasta and bottles of red wine that I realized: wine was it!
Soon after, I landed a Marketing role at Beam Wine Estates in Healdsburg, California. Beam was bought out by Constellation Wines 2 years later, and I accepted a Marketing role in Constellation’s San Francisco office. After 5 years and various trade marketing and brand management roles with Constellation, I made a giant leap and moved to Melbourne, Australia after being offered a brand manager position with Treasury Wine Estates. 2 years later, I decided to move to Portland, and here I am! The Oregon wine industry absolutely fascinates me, and I’m excited to be a part of such a special and historical piece of it here at Sokol Blosser.
In my free time, I love to travel, practice yoga, read, run, cook, and explore all the beauty my new home has to offer. I’m also a current MBA Candidate at Portland State University, because why not?
